Five years ago, a new mission began on the island of Delos. The visionary initiative ALPHA MISSION – DELOS brings together each May, in the heart of the Cyclades, leading figures from diverse fields with the aim of fostering dialogue about the future of humanity, while raising awareness and inspiring action around the major challenges facing life on the “pale blue dot” — the only home we have ever known: Earth.
On Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 19:00, at Manto Cinema in Mykonos Town, academics, scientists and artists will come together with the local community to explore the pulse that connects all forms of life, examining the living relationship between human wellbeing and the health of the planet.
The event, titled “The Pulse of Life: Reconnecting Personal and Planetary Health”, will feature, among others:
- Stamatis Krimigis, Emeritus Director, Space Exploration Sector, Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory; former President of the Academy of Athens
- Vassilis Lambrinoudakis, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology, National and Kapodistrian University of Athens
- Dimosthenis Sarigiannis, Director and Chairman of the Board, National Hellenic Research Foundation; Professor of Environmental Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki
The evening will conclude with the screening of the award-winning concert film The [Uncertain] Four Seasons in Delos.

About ALPHA MISSION – DELOS
The mission of ALPHA MISSION – DELOS is to raise awareness around the climate crisis. At this critical moment for our planet, Delos — one of antiquity’s most important cosmopolitan centres, a meeting point of cultures, languages and spiritual traditions — is already facing the consequences of rising sea levels.
The initiative invites us to reflect on the roots that once gave us wings: science and technology, but also ancestral wisdom, the humanities, the arts and spirituality — and to imagine a civilisation that respects and protects life in all its forms.
